Shrew skull and bones triangle
A lovely triangular design that features a real tiny shrew skull! Most of the bones used in this piece are from shrews, then the gaps have been filled in with the smallest vole and mice bones and teeth.
3 tiny shrew teeth have been used in this artwork, you can spot them by the beautiful splashes of red on them!
The artwork has been mounted onto a lovely matte black Fabriano card and is displayed in a black12x12cm shadowbox frame with a black matte border. Each bone has been carefully glued down into place.
The glass has been removed for the photos.
 
All these artworks are created with real bones sourced ethically/naturally through wild owl pellets.
 
The owl pellets are dissected for the skulls and bones then the bones are cleaned and whitened over several days. I then go through the bones sorting them into different bone types using tweezers, then they go into my bone boxes ready to use for my artwork. Each step of my process is tedious and time consuming which is reflected in the prices. Prices are dependant upon the time taken, the style of the art and the availability of the bone types used.
